Terms of service
Last updated 14 October 2026
1. Who we are
WritersAPI (writersapi.com) is an API that routes writing and image requests to third-party AI models. It is operated and maintained by PRNow (https://prnow.io/). "We" means PRNow; "you" means the person or organisation holding an API key.
2. Access
Access is by API key, issued at our discretion. Keep your key secret and use it only from your own servers. You are responsible for all requests made with your key. Tell us at once at hello@writersapi.com if a key may have leaked; we will rotate it.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use WritersAPI to:
- break any law, or infringe anyone's rights, including copyright, trademark and privacy;
- create content that is defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually exploits minors, or incites violence;
- produce spam, deceptive content presented as human-verified fact, or impersonations of real people or organisations;
- breach the usage policies of the AI providers your requests are routed to;
- probe, overload or work around the service's limits, or resell access without our written agreement.
We may suspend a key that breaks these terms, or that puts the service or other users at risk.
4. Third-party models
Requests are processed by third-party providers such as DeepSeek, Google, OpenAI (through OpenRouter) and Black Forest Labs. Which provider serves a request can change from one request to the next, including through automatic fallback. Each provider's own terms and policies apply to the processing it performs.
5. Output
As between you and us, you own the content you submit and the output you receive, subject to the providers' terms. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or similar to other people's output. Review it before you publish it; you are responsible for what you publish.
6. Fees
WritersAPI has no subscription. Keys using our provider accounts ("hosted") are charged the provider's cost of each request plus the markup shown on the pricing page, currently 5%. Keys using your own provider accounts ("bring your own keys") are free; your providers bill you directly. We may change the markup with 30 days' notice.
7. Your provider keys
If you give us your own provider keys, we store them encrypted, use them only to serve your requests, and never show them again in full. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
8. Availability
We work to keep the service running and to route around failing models, but it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We may change, add or remove models and features at any time.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before it arose.
10. Ending
You can stop using WritersAPI at any time. We can end your access with notice, or at once for a serious breach. Sections 5, 9 and 11 survive.
11. General
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and continued use means you accept it. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Questions: hello@writersapi.com.
